Counterfeit

How do you know when its the real thing? Something or someone comes in to your life and it could look like it’s too good to be true.

Is it? How can you tell?

Do I just go along with this until I found it it’s gonna hurt me or do I just go along with it until I believe it is genuine? Whatever the real thing is I’m sure its look a lot like what’s right in front of me. But what’s right in front of me can also be a counterfeit. It looks so much like the real thing that you can’t tell that it’s fake. You ask others that you trust and they tell you it isn’t real because they see the falseness in it. You aren’t convinced so you do some research and spend lots of time trying to discover if this is really real or not because honestly you so desperately want it to be true. You so desperately want to believe this is the answer to your prayers; the answer to your soul’s longing. You want this to fix whatever you feel is lacking in your life or in your soul. You want this thing or person to be what heals you, what makes you feel whole, what will brighten your countenance, what will bring you happiness, what will make you forget your pain.

But is this real? Is it really real? Or is it counterfeit? How will you be sure? This person looks like, sounds like, acts like, thinks like, walks like and talks like the real thing. This thing presents itself like the real thing. You go back and forth to make sure you’re not losing your mind and analyze what is before you.

Finally you gather up all the facts, all the evidence, all of what you have experienced and put the pieces together.

You leave it all on the table lay it all out. You quit trying to figure things out because it is just using up your energy. Bring it to God who is not the author of confusion, who is not gonna lead you astray. God is true. God is real. God is honest. God is righteous.

His word says ” Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise” Philippians 4:8

If it looks counterfeit, talks counterfeit, walks counterfeit, sounds counterfeit, acts counterfeit.. it most likely is counterfeit.

Wait on God for the real thing. Wait on God for the best thing. Believe in God for the truth.

Pray and seek his guidance, for his leading and his ways.

Counterfeit will be always counterfeit and real will always be real.

The TRUTH will set you free.

A Poem called ‘How’s Your Soul?’

For what does a profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?

For what can a man give in return for his soul?

What’s more important?

Getting done with everything or your to-do list,

Or making it a priority to sit at the feet of Jesus?

When was the last time you made time to spend time with your creator?

The one who gave you the very breath that you breathe, the voice you use to speak, the hands and feet you use to work.

Or are you too caught up with work?

If you’re too busy for God then maybe you’re too busy.

Maybe excuses have become less like excuses and are just a part of your habits until it becomes your nature and you realize you keep pouring yourself out to everyone else around you and forget to fill yourself up.

You forget that Christ is your fuel.

The one who gives you the strength to keep going and going.

But you’ve been doing it all on your own strength

Because the moment you can’t handle something you want to give up.

You don’t see a way.

You don’t see or believe you can overcome and move beyond your circumstances so doubting God is what happens.

Ask yourself.

“How’s my soul?”

Do you feel at peace or well rested in his presence?

The one thing that really matters and that will never be taken from you is being in his presence.

Surrendering to his will, to his plan for you.

Don’t worry yourself with the cares of this world.

Don’t be anxious for nothing but bring your request to God.

Let him fill you, let your cup be filled.

Remember his word and stand firm.

Because every soul needs a home.

Why are you searching or looking anywhere else when God already says ‘you belong’

‘My presence is your home my child

And you’re never too far from home’

Matthew 14:13-21

Feeding the Five Thousand

13 When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. 14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. 15 When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.”

16 But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

17 And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”

18 He said, “Bring them here to Me.” 19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. 20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. 21 Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Seriously?

Have you ever been so excited about something that you just wanted to jump and dance around all day? You been wanting something or waiting for something and think it finally is going to happen. Finally what you’ve been longing for has been placed right in front of you and you are sooooo happy right now. But wait..

What?!! Are you serious? The one thing you were excited about, is now taken from you. Your friends cancelled on bowling night, your date stood you up, Walgreens ran out of your favorite chips, you didn’t get hired for the job, the concert tickets to your favorite band are sold out, your family cancelled the vacation to Hawaii…

Now your left disappointed. Now you’re saying ‘why did this have to go wrong’?

Sometimes things aren’t going to work out the way we want them to. Things may not always go the way we planned.

God says “My thoughts are higher than your thoughts, and my ways are higher than your ways” Isaiah 55:8

You might never know why something didn’t turn out your way. In some cases people find out that God was actually protecting them from something. Maybe you didn’t get that job you wanted because God has something better for you. Maybe it was a good thing that your date stood you up because that person isn’t the one who God wants you to be with. Maybe it’s a good thing that your friends cancelled bowling night because there was a huge accident on the highway that you could’ve been a part of.

Whatever the situation or whatever the case may be, don’t beat yourself up for it.

God knows what He is doing in your life. Whenever something doesn’t go our way, it is always because God has a better way.

REJECTION is PROTECTION.

I’m happy I am protected by God and will thank him when what I want happens and will thank him when what I want doesn’t happen. Either way I’m still protected.

You are blessed!

“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever”. 1 Chronicles 16:34

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

“Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”. Ephesians 5:20

Remember to thank God for what you have. Let yourself be humble and know that God has taken care of you and has known you before you were even born.

Say it right now! It’s so simple to do. Say ‘Thank you Jesus’. Say it over and over again. Three words- “Thank you Jesus”

You may not be where you want to be in life. You make not have the fancy car or clothes or shoes. You may feel insecure, unappreciated or unworthy.

But God says you are more than the clothes you wear and the shoes you buy. He says you ARE worthy, loved and cared for. We ,as humans, look at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart. We see what is in front of us but God says walk by faith and not by sight.

He loves a thankful heart! God can be working on a hundred different things for us in our life yet we’re only aware of three of them.

Be thankful for the life you’ve been given. Not only on today which is Thanksgiving Day, but everyday!

Cherish your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, your husband, your wife, your children, all people and all blessings! 🙂

Joy in the Midst of Trial

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,  knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience” James 1:2-3

Just hold on. Don’t give up now. Yes you’re in pain and your heart is hurting.

But have you ever thought that the trial you’re in right now is preparing you for what you’ve been praying for. Or that the trial you’re in right now is making you stronger and wiser. The trial you are in right now is building your character. It is causing you to lean on Christ for help. You have been doing things on your own strength lately and now you’re realizing you can’t figure it out all on your own.

Just wait. Be patient.

God doesn’t waste anything. Your pain, your trial, your struggle is all for a greater purpose that you can’t see yet. You don’t know what is to come. Just know that God is in control. He will never fail you.

He will never fail you.

So be glad, be truly happy! He is molding you and shaping you into a better version of yourself. You are having the opportunity to grow and be who He has called you to be.

“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” 2 Corinthians 4:17

Wait on the Lord and trust in him.

Wait and see.

First blog post

Why blogging?

I love writing! It’s a way for my thoughts to come out of my head and onto paper, or in this case onto the internet. I want to be able to share  what has been placed on my heart and also be able to relate to others and inspire people. This has already been so much fun to start and I am excited for this journey with you all ❤
