Violence

Violence oh violence. How it seems to not make a difference. Two wrongs don’t make a right. We all want our own way. That’s why there’s quarrels and fights among us. Everyone wants to speak and no one wants to listen. Everyone wants to be right and no one wants to admit they’re right. You agree? Ok great because you are guilty as anyone else. We are all lovers of ourselves hating our neighbor because we want what is best for our lives. We don’t look after anyone we don’t care about. We hate those who we think are better than us and we treat each other as enemies. Violence oh violence. How it doesn’t make a difference. All it does is show us that we need to change. It shows us our true colors of evil and rage. Discourse and malice. Anger and frustration. Cold-hearted and mean. Where is the peace of God in the midst of hatred? He lives in us, then we should live it out loud. Be the change we are looking for and maybe others will change.

Violence oh violence.

If you are never challenged, you don’t grow

James 1:2-4

Faith and Endurance

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

Monkey See, Monkey Do

It’s so interesting how we are so persuaded as humans by what we  see. We look at someone with something we don’t have and then think we should have it. We then go out of our way to spend money to get it only then realizing how unsatisfied we are. We’re all guilty of this. If you have an iPhone, a new car, new clothes or anything you didn’t have before you most likely saw someone else with it first and it looked good to you. Commercials, tv shows, movies, friends, co-workers, celebrities all have this kind of influence on us. We see them behave a certain way so we behave that way too. They talk a certain way and we try talking like that too. We are so easily gullible to buy what we think will improve our lives and it just leaves us wanting more.

What if we were like that with God? No I mean, really, imitate God. He heals the sick, casts out demons, Jesus spent time with him. What if we all imitated Jesus and actually lived the way he set as an example for us. What kind of different people we’d be. He never spoke without it coming from the Father. He was always in tune with God. I don’t know about you but I would rather follow Jesus’ example than any celebrity. No one can fill my soul or satisfy me the way Jesus can. No more monkey see, monkey do. Let there be more of your will,  not my will be done.

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” Ephesians 5:1-2

Put God’s Word Up in Your Home

There are benefits to putting God’s word all around your house and your room. You have no choice but to look at it. it’s right in front of you. It quickly reminds of you of his goodness and his kindness. God’s word is living and active and it pierces our souls. His word is never ending and speaks differently to us each time we read it. Hearing the word brings faith and we need faith daily. It is our daily bread in which we live. We live by the words of God and he sets us free in every way. Let’s not place his word to the side. His words don’t just belong in a closed book but every where you are let his word be there. Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Let God’s word be every where you are.
