Psalm 56:9-13

When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.

In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Pause

What happens when God says wait? Right now the whole world is on a pause. We all have plans that have now been cancelled. We all have dreams that may not come through the way we want. People are still having weddings but have had to rearrange their entire wedding plans. People are still working but some are at home wishing their loved ones disappeared. Life is still going on but so many lives are ending. This is a year that no one will ever forget. 100 years from now, the year 2020 will be in history books still as one of the worst epidemics in history. The moment we are living in now is forever a part of history. We all have had to stop. We all have had to reflect on our lives and how we will get through this time. We’ve all had to pause. Most of us only use pause buttons to stop a movie or a song but after the pause is over, we go right back to where we left off. Maybe our attention needs to be elsewhere during that pause. Maybe a family or friend was trying to speak to us. Maybe God is trying to speak to us? Let’s give him our full attention during this pause. Afterwards, we go back to what we were doing before but we will do it differently. We will have more gratitude. We will have more discipline. God will have out attention.

God is Faithful

God is always faithful. His promises remain true and he will never fail. His timing is always perfect and his love is everlasting.

You may not see the blessing up ahead, but just when you think it was all over, he shows up. He is a miracle working God.

All the seasons of darkness, were actually season of growth. The years of pruning were causing you to break off everything that was holding you back. God had to let you be broken, for you to be made whole. He has put you back together in the most beautiful way. He has placed you in such deep valleys so the mountaintops are never taken for granted. You have walked through fire but he was always right there with you. You have shed many tears, felt the deepest pain, and faced incredible difficulty. All of it was meant for this moment. The moment when you realize how strong you are. How powerful you are. How tough you are. How blessed you truly are and how better you have become.

Admit it. You have become better. You are different and you don’t know how but your seasons of isolation were actually preparation. Your seasons of desperation were preparing you for elevation. There is more to you than you know.

Now you can live in it. You can now walk out the calling over your life. You can be all that God has called you to be and more all because HE IS FAITHFUL.

Stay in the Moment

None of us know what God has for us. Faith and obedience is greater than fear and doubt. When he talks, listen. When he speaks, listen. God always is on time and knows what he’s doing. Yes our sinful nature wants it done our way at all times. Yes we think we know better, but the reality is we know nothing. We did not create ourselves. We did not create time. We did nothing but show up and have to figure life out. God gave us his Word so we are not blinded in this life yet some of us would rather not read the instruction manual but try to live this life our way. God’s ways are greater and higher. He is better. Do not miss out in the moments he gives you. Find purpose and growth in every moment.

Stay in the moment.

Be thankful for where you are right now and where you will be in the future.

Unleashed

At what point does God become like a fire shut up in our bones and we can’t help but shout his praises? At one point do we let the Holy Spirit lead and come alive to God’s supernatural abilities? When is it finally okay to stop playing games with God and take him seriously. We put TV, movies, music and all other things in front of God’s face and tell him they are more important. Our church services lack a passion. Our congregation lack fire. Our bible studies lack depth. God has become our side hustle and not our full time job. All our savior wants is for us to stand up and be the bride he has called us to be. No more cutesy Christianity. This is not a game , this is a battlefield! The enemy is out here grabbing people’s attention and blinding them to the truth. We have the opportunity to tell people the truth and yet we hold back because we don’t desire more. How many Christians fast on a regular basis? How many Christians read the bible daily? How many of us pray first instead of making it a last resort? Do we take God seriously or do we not think our souls need more than what we already have?

I don’t know about you, but I refuse to play games with the Holy Spirit. There’s too much destruction of people lives and souls that need to be saved for believers to sleep on God’s word. We need more soldiers of Christ. We need more warriors. We need more lionesses to rise up and take hold the mantel. We need to be unleashed! Our eyes and ears need to be opened spiritually so we can see the reality of what our world has come to. God is moving in the hearts of many and will raise up a new generation of generals. He is calling new faces to the forefront. Let’s eliminate worldliness in church. Let’s invite the Holy Spirit in our midst. Let’s wake up because we cannot afford to stay asleep. The world is waiting for us to unleash. The world is waiting for a move of God. The world is waiting on us, as we keep surrendering to the world..

I Can & I Will

When life throws punches at you, throw back a jab or an uppercut. When God closes a door, do not, and I repeat, do not go back into it. It is close for a reason. Pick you head up and focus on what He has called you to. This is not the time to fall back into insecurity. You have come to far to look back. Tell yourself “I can” and “I will”. The godly are as bold as lions. You are not a little kitty cat, you are a lion. Your father is the creator of the universe and all living things. You are called to live to the fullest and to have life abundantly. Yes the road looks difficulty and there are bumps or bruises along the way. Let none of those things move you or stop you from becoming everything God has created you to become. Each day you are closer and closer to your destiny. Trust in God’s plan for your life and lay all your cares at his feet. Rise up and be fearless. Stand up tall and strong. Don’t let your moment slip away. Accomplish all God has for you.

You can and you will !

Mental Fortitude

When the world around you seems to crumble and fall,

When others ridicule you and try to bring you down,

When no one is on your side or understands you,

When you can’t say what you really want to say because the truth is too much.

Breathe in, breathe out. God only knows the real you.

Yet they will judge, they will criticize, they will slander.

You stay the same. You do what God has called you to do.

Do it with character, strength, persistence.

Live with all of yourself and remind yourself of who you are because they don’t know the real you and they never will.

Understand that no one can know the depths of your heart but God.

Not every battle, you have to fight.

God is fighting for you. So smile child. God is on your side.

No one loves you like God loves you.

Have the mental fortitude to stay grounded.

Mistakes

No one likes to make mistakes. Being an independent problem solver is not always the easiest but it is necessary. It is the default action to blame yourself and feel bad about the mistake you have made. At the end of the day, learn from it and move on. Now you know better and better you will become.

Psalm 43:5 New King James Version (NKJV)

Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.

Prayer Changes Everything

“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much.  If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” -Jesus (Matthew 5:43-48)

Imitate

How do you stay true to who you are when you’re surrounded by everything that contradicts what you believe? You take a step back, look at the word of God and align your life with it. In this world today, His word is the only thing that makes sense. We’ve lost a sense of purpose and have pushed Jesus completely out of the picture. We are not taking up our cross daily and following him. We are taking pictures of ourselves daily and asking people to follow us. Paul said to “imitate me, as I imitate Christ (1 Corinthians 10:34) yet today we are imitating everything but Christ and imitate the ways of this world. We’re all lost. We’re all blinded. Unless the scales from our eyes fall off and we see the world through Christ eyes. Being accepting does not mean agreeing. Being loving does not mean that God is not love. Being holy does not mean being tolerate of the unholiness around you. We’ve gone backwards. How do we move forward? We take a step a back, look at the word of God and align our lives with it.
