God’s Plan

No one can stop God’s plan.

Joseph’s brothers couldn’t stop his dreams from being fulfilled.

Saul could not kill David since he was anointed as the next king.

Ishmael did not prevent Abraham from having Isaac.

The pharisees could not keep Jesus from the cross and resurrection.

4 Years

What if you were trapped & strapped down for 4 years?

What if you couldn’t breathe for 4 years?

What if you suffocated for 4 years?

What if every time you tried, you fail for 4 years?

4. Years.

Through all your success there’s a deep pain.

The enemy must really want to try to stop you from being something or getting anywhere

He has to use so many roadblocks, but wait..

What if, for years God has pulled you through?

For years God has saved your life.

For years you have never been alone.

God has protected you for years. You were always safe and sound. Even in the midst of fire.

You are loved and will be loved for many years.

4 all your years.

Truth

I don’t know what is worse than a racist pastor. Maybe you could think of something.

But the words racist and pastor should not be in the same sentence or category.

It is as if they missed the whole point of the gospel and the Bible entirely.

We are all made in his image. That means all. All means everyone. Not some. Not the people we like only.

It is a shame that so many people will get hurt in the church purposely by the hands or mouth of a person who has the title of a pastor but is nothing like one.

Listen, there is nothing wrong with you. If you have ever been treated less than because of the color of your skin, it is person tearing you down that way who has to answer God. We all do. No one is free from judgement day.

PRAY for your enemies but don’t let them take over your life. Take your life back.

The life that they tried to destroy with their their lips can be redeemed with praise.

PRAISE your Heavenly Father for giving you hope and love and peace. The world cannot give you that peace.

God does not see you as a color. He see you as chosen.

That is the TRUTH.

Past Haunting

Can’t shake the memories

of who you used to be

and all the things you once had.

You love the attention you got,

the love you once received.

It seems like every time you step up now

the enemy finds a reason to bring you back down.

Whatever God allows to happen is for your good,

for you to not take life for granted,

for you to see the blessings that are here now.

Man, it’s hard

to be in the middle of not where you once were

but not where you want to be.

How ’bout we start wanting to be right where we are.

Living in the past won’t change it.

Living in the future can’t create it.

Let your past be a lesson for you.

Don’t let it haunt you.

You’re Different

We all have different assignments in life. Your walk with God is not going to look like someone else’s. But that’s the problem. All of us want everyone else to be just like us. Differences make people uncomfortable. Even if we like to say we are inclusive, we still notice differences in other people. What you do with those differences makes a huge impact.

As a believer, we can think that we should copy one another and all be on the same page. We should be like-minded as the word says but we are not all the same. We have different personalities, thoughts, and talents. We are one body with many parts. Find out the part you play and play it well. You are unique no matter who you are. There is not another you, so be you. Even twins have differences about them.

Embrace who you are and who God made you to be. Learn the strategies of the enemy that try to keep you down and believe in the name of Jesus. You have a specific purpose and no one can take that away from you.

You are different.

Not Done

There’s nothing like having a traumatic experience as a young person and coming into the reality that not everyone in this world is a nice person. Sometimes people see the good in you and the potential you have so they get upset and treat you like garbage. There is nothing you said or did. Nothing you could do to make them love you. They hate you because they aren’t you.

How horrible it is to be treated by someone who everyone thinks is an amazing person but to you they are awful. Behind the scenes, their character is anything but good and you have to put on a smile for others otherwise, you seem like the bad one. To top it off, the person who is emotional abusing you has power so they can take you out of your position and no one will ever ask about it.

I don’t know if you’ve been there but a lot of people have. Keep your head up. Things like this only make you stronger and no one has the power to take your voice. No one has the power to write your story. Only God can write your story and he is the best story teller.

So if you are still alive, you have opportunity. You have the chance to make something of yourself and your life. Do not let that chapter of your life be your whole life. You are worth more. You are loved. You are not done.

5

Biblically, the number 5 represents Grace.

There are 5 people who God used to save me.

  1. My mother. Praying for her children everyday and always.
  2. My youth leader. Asked us one day, “if you were to die today, would you go to Heaven?”. I could not say yes and that thought stayed with me.
  3. A prophet that God used to prophetically speak one night at church when I did not want to go. He called out a specific sin that I was dealing with and looked directly in my eyes. It was as if God was talking to me and calling out my sin. No one saw this but me. No one knew the sin I was dealing with.
  4. A woman that was sitting behind me at church the same night as the prophet was there. She saw that I did not go up to the altar when he called for people to go up. She tapped me on the shoulder and asked why I did not go up. I had no answer. She said “God wants me to tell you to go up to the altar.” I immediately started to cry. I gave my life to Christ that night and have never been the same.
  5. Lecrae. His rap music about Christ changed my life. As soon as I got saved, God opened up my eyes to the evil in this world. Music, movies, television, and bad influence of friends were things I needed to let go. I did not know what kind of music or entertainment I could watch. I found Lecrae’s music then found so many other artist who sang or rapped about God in genres that I related to.

God always chases us. He will use anything and anyone to bring us to him. It is up to us to make the decision. He does not force himself on us. He gives us time. He is patient. Yet when he stands at the door and knock, open it. Do it before it is too late. Today is the day.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

Shackles

I’m mean, can we just get a break? Will all this hatred, evil, murder, and racism ever stop? As long as we live on this earth, darkness, pain, and suffering continue. We are experiencing the birth pains of Jesus’ return. This earth is temporary. He is coming back and there is no doubt about that.

“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” Isaiah 1:17

We have a part to do on this earth while we are here and will all stand before the Father to give an account for the way we lived our life. There are no amount of good deeds that you will be able to argue a case of you being a good person. Without Jesus, no one gets to the Father.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

The enemy loves to see us destroy ourselves. That is exactly what he wants but Jesus wants to gives us full life.

Let us not forget the only one who can truly save us from ourselves.

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

Trying to live freely and having someone go out of their way to put you in chains defeats the purpose of life. We cannot pick and choose who gets to live and who does not. We become the enemy’s best friend when we continue to support his wicked ways. Shake the shackles off. Without Christ we are all slaves to sin.

“Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.” Romans 6:16-18

Future

Yes, you had an amazing past. God has blessed you your entire life. Your present may not look like how your past was but you were naive then. You look at old pictures of you and see someone who living in bliss. Everything around you was perfect because there was so much that you didn’t know. Then God takes you deeper, higher, and further. You don’t think the same, look the same or even talk the same. If you could even get a glimpse of your future, you would be smiling all the time. But you should smile all the time anyways. Just like your old pictures. Be thankful for what God has done in you and through you. You have stories to tell that others need to hear. There is so much more in store for you. Just wait and see. You will be amazed. It definitely does not end here. It is only the beginning.
